Family Promise (formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network)

This is a program for homeless families in the York County area. It is a network of 13 churches in York County, (including The Oratory, St. Anne and St. Mary’s) and Family Promise Day Center.  As an excellent, nurturing program, it enables screened homeless families to learn how to take care of themselves by learning the basics:  of finding a job, caring for their children, budgeting their funds, and ultimately finding a place to live and become independent.

This is an opportunity to help with homelessness.  Our Catholic community provides lodging, meals and welcoming care to families that are experiencing severe economic hardships.  Families are assisted by our Catholic community one week each quarter and reside during this week at the Ark on the Oratory grounds.  We are in need of parishioners who can provide one meal or stay at the Ark one night during the week we are hosting.  This is a very, rewarding ministry for volunteers for parishioners with a small amount of time and big hearts.  Please contact Sandy Leone at 803-366-2829, for more information.
